Amanda Reeve – State Representative – Legislative District 6

Amanda Reeve was elected  to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2010.  Prior to being elected by the voters in District 6, she was appointed on February 17, 2010 to replace outgoing Representative Sam Crump. She represents Legislative District 6, which is a diverse district stretching from Moon Valley to New River and 40th Street to 51st Avenue.

As a Representative for LD 6, she strives to create economic development and sustainability, reduce burdensome government regulations, reform our educational system, all while being a fiscally responsible steward of your tax dollars. She Chairs the Environment Committee, and is a member of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, and the Higher Education and Innovation Reform Committee.

As a result of Amanda’s outstanding legislative and regulatory work on behalf of Arizona businesses during the 2011 legislative session, she received the Sentinel Award from the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce; and was recognized as the Representative of the Year by the Arizona Manufacturing Council.  She also received a Leadership Award from the Mesa Prevention Alliance in appreciation of her efforts to support Arizona’s local communities in preventing substance abuse.

Amanda is deeply honored to have been nominated by Leadership in the Arizona House of Representatives for the very prestigious 2011 Emerging Leaders Program, sponsored by the State Legislative Leaders Foundation and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.  It was a great privilege for her to have been one of only fifty state legislators selected to participate in the program from a nationwide pool of over 200 outstanding nominees.

Over the years, she has served her district in a variety of volunteer capacities including: member of the Paradise Valley Village Planning Committee for the City of Phoenix; as State Committeeman and Precinct Committeeman for the Arizona Republican Party; Deputy Director to the Arizona Bush-Cheney 2004 E-Campaign; Chair of North Valley Young Republicans; and liaison for the Arizona Young Republicans League to the Teenage Republicans.

In addition to being a State Representative and her community service work, Amanda is a paralegal for an Environmental and Natural Resources client-service practice group at Polsinelli Shughart, LLP. She has experience in Superfund defense and cost recovery, hazardous-waste defense, environmental-insurance recovery, and a multitude of other complex litigation.

Amanda grew up on The Reeve Hereford Ranch in Durango, Colorado with her amazing, supportive, and loving family. She completed her undergraduate degree at California State University, Sacramento and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 2000. She is currently finishing up her Master’s degree in the Environmental Technology Management graduate program at Arizona State University.

Amanda is a lifelong Conservative Republican and a member of the National Rifle Association.
